What’s it like to commission a custom piece for your home or workplace?

First, we begin with the meaning. What is your aim for the space? What do you love? What inspires you? What colors, plants, flowers do you want to be surrounded by and reminded of every day? Some themes could be a birth or state flower, a wedding bouquet, a favorite fruit tree or landscape scene that has personal meaning, a botanical piece mentioned in a favorite book…the inspirations are endless.

Once that is established, I pull source images for you to choose from as a starting point. From there, the commission begins!

I will then send you a detailed contract so you’ll know every detail of what to expect. Size, medium, substrate (usually cotton canvas), expected time frame, total fee and so on.

Commission fees are currently priced at $1/square inch. At time of signing contract, a 25% non-refundable deposit is required in order for work to begin.

Custom artwork is an intimate, personal and very touching way to have symbolic work in your home. It is a lovely process to be able to choose an artistic inspiration and see the finished result hanging in your space. It’s a great honor for me as an artist to be able to come alongside people in this way.
